With this statement we inform you about the processing of personal data when you visit this website and about your rights under the GDPR (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung / DSGVO) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG).

2. General information on data processing

We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functioning website and our content, or where you have given your consent. The legal bases are in particular your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in a secure website that meets user needs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Access to your terminal device is governed by § 25 of the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, TDDDG).

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted as a static website by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes the data on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitung, Art. 28 GDPR).

Each time the site is accessed, the server automatically collects information transmitted by your browser and stores it in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, the resource requested, status code, volume of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer) as well as browser type and operating system. This processing serves to deliver the website, to ensure system security and to analyse malfunctions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are stored only for as long as is necessary for these purposes and are subsequently deleted.

4. Contact by e-mail or telephone

If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process your details in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry is directed at the conclusion or performance of a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We store the data until your request has been conclusively dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Contact form

You can send us an enquiry via the contact form. The mandatory details are the area of interest, your name, your e-mail address and your message. You may optionally provide your company, telephone number, industry/project environment, project status and the type of support you require.

We process these details exclusively in order to handle your enquiry and respond to you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling enquiries).

Transmission to our e-mail inbox is encrypted. For e-mail operations we use Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland) as a processor (Auftragsverarbeiter). This may involve a transfer to Microsoft Corporation in the USA; such transfer is safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses.

To protect against automated misuse, the form contains a check field that is not visible to you and a time check; no data is transferred to third parties in this process. We store your details until your request has been conclusively dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Consent and storage on your terminal device

This website does not set any cookies for advertising or tracking purposes without your consent. Via a consent tool you can control optional categories (Functional, Statistics, Marketing); these are deactivated by default. No services are loaded through this tool without your consent. Your selection is stored locally in your browser (local storage) as a technically necessary measure so that the website takes your decision into account on your next visit; the legal basis for this is § 25(2) TDDDG (strictly necessary storage) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can change or revoke your selection at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer of the website.

7. Reach measurement

Insofar as you consent to the “Statistics” category, reach measurement is carried out exclusively via a self-hosted solution (Matomo). IP addresses are truncated (anonymised) and no data is transferred to third parties. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings”.

8. Fonts and search

The fonts used are embedded locally on our server and are not reloaded from external providers; no data is transferred to third parties in this process. The search function works entirely in your browser on the basis of a search index delivered with the website; your search terms are not transferred to our server.

9. Data security

We use transport encryption (TLS/HTTPS) to protect the transmission of your data over the internet, and we take technical and organisational measures to secure your data against loss, alteration and unauthorised access.

10. Recipients and processing on our behalf

Your data is passed on to third parties only insofar as this is necessary to fulfil the purposes stated above or where there is a legal basis for doing so. Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (Auftragsverarbeitung) are in place with the service providers we use (hosting, e-mail).

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

• access to the data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
• objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
• withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

To exercise your rights, a message to the contact details listed under section 1 is sufficient.

12. Right to object

Insofar as we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data concerned, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

13. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Aufsichtsbehörde) (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:
